Face Up

Historically, there has been an effort to put a face to the disease, to blame the victim, and to blame the other. If an amalgam of facial images could point to a representation of a person living with AIDS, Face Up’s distortions cause an interruption to this seamless flow of identity, which is underscored by the glitches and uncanny digital textures made of unquiet computer generated pixels, rather than founded in the myth of photographic objectivity.
